State the differences betwwen Parenchyma, collenchyma and sclernchyma.
Answers
Parenchyma cells are found in every soft part of the plant, but collenchyma cells are found in specific part of the plant like leaves, stems, and petioles, whereas sclerenchyma cells are found in mature parts of the plants or trees. Whereas collenchyma cells have an uneven cell wall made up of pectin and hemicellulose.

Differences:-
Parenchyma
• Formed of living cells.
• Cell wall is thin and without secondary deposition.
• Cells contain cytoplasm.
• Intercellular spaces are present.
Carries vital functions such as food synthesis and storage of food.
Collenchyma
•Formed of living cells only.
•Cell wall becomestl thick due to pectin and cellulose.
•Cells contain cytoplasm.
•Incellular spaces may or may not be present.
• Beside synthesis and storage pf food, provides elasticity and support to the body.
Sclernchyma
•It consists of dead cells only.
•Cell walls become thick due to deposition of lignin.
•Cells are devoid of cytoplasm.
•Incellular spaces are absent.
•Mainly of mechanical tissue. Provide strength and support to plant body.
