Scanning It refers to the technique in which a word or particular text is searched by the reader.
In skimming it is required to have the ability to know what is relevant for reading and what is not.
Whereas, in scanning, it requires the ability to focus on keywords and find quickly.
In skimming purpose is to get the general idea of the article or book before purchasing it.
Whereas, the scanning purpose is to search for a telephone number or find a quotation in a book.
