If it is not documented, it is equal to not being done; this statement itself highlights the importance of documentation/publishing in the field of scientific research. The word "RESEARCH" itself is self-explanatory and it is defined as searching the elements from the existing galaxy. So every researcher is searching for something in the existing galaxy and the person who documents/publishes first will get credit. The process of documentation started in the Neolithic human period itself.
