acid rain

it happens due to release of harmful gases such as sulphur dioxide, carbon monoxide.

also burning of fossil fuels in large amount causes acid rain.

these toxic gases mixes with ait particles in atmosphere and when rain falls it mix with the rain water in sky and fall along with it .

this water can cause damage to statues as they are acidic and can corrode the surface of statues.

the rain has generally pH 5.6 which is acidic on nature
