Testosterone

→ It is the male sex hormone secreted by the testes located in the pelvis region of males.

→ It is responsible for the development of secondary sexual characters in males like, deepening of voice, growth of beard, moustache etc.

→ It helps in growth of muscles and strengthening bones.

→ It can also be secreted by adrenal glands.

Progesterone

→ It is the female sex hormone mainly secreted by the ovaries present in pelvis region of females.

→ Regulates menstruation cycle in females. It causes the thickening of the line of uterus.

→ Supports pregnancy in females.

→ Progesterone may also be secreted in males by adrenal gland and helps in sperm formation.

Oxytocin

→ It is also known as birth hormone and is secreted by pituitary glad located in the base of the brain.

→ It acts on uterine muscles and produce wild contractions and causes expulsion of foetus during birth of baby.

→ It also helps in ejection of milk by acting on alveoli and thus also known as milk ejecting factor.
