The National Assembly was formed on June 17, 1789. The Third Estate began the Revolution by declaring itself a National Assembly. The National Assembly moved to a tennis court and took the Oath of the Tennis Court which stated that they would not break up until a Constitution has been drafted. They refused to listen to Louis XIV's order to break up the National Assembly immediately.
