The information acquired at the end of dendritic tip of a nerve cell sets off a chemical reaction that creates an electrical impulse. This impulse travels from the dendrite to the cell body and then along the axon to its end. At the end of the axon, the electrical impulse sets off the releases of some chemicals. These chemicals cross the gap or synapse and start a similar impulse in the dendrite of the next neuron.                                                              (2)

When a nerve impulse reaches the tips of the dendrites of one neuron, a chemical reaction occurs that creates an electrical impulse. This travels from the dendrites to the cyton and from there along the length of the axon.
