Social cause - The society was divided into three estates . The members of first and second estates enjoyed some privileges by birth whereas the members of third estate were discriminated .
Political cause - the country was ruled by an absolute monarch . Voting was done on the principle that each estate had one vote . During voting , the first and second estate often joined hands and thus decision never favoured the third estate .
