Resistance of a uniform metallic conductor is directly proportional to its length (l) and inversely proportional to the area of cross section (A) ^ given above pic

where p (rho){refers to a letter similar to p} is a constant and is called resistivity of a material of the conductor used.

Resistance depends upon

1)on the length of the conductor.

2)on its area of cross section.

3)on the nature of its material(conductor)

4)temperature.
