the strength of the electric current flowing in an conductor depends on the resistance of the wire that depends on the length of the conductor , thickness of the conductor and material used to make the conductor

The electric current’s strength depends on the following when it flows through the conductor  

1. Resistance of the conductor and its cross section

2. Thickness of the conductor and material used to make the conductor

3. Potential difference across the end of the conductor

4. Drift velocity of electrons and its number density

According to Ohm’s law,  

V=IR

I=V/R

Increase in the area making the resistance to be increased which will subsequently increases the current. The increase in the current flow happens when the temperature across the conductor gets increased.
