Answer:

Newton's first law of motion - sometimes referred to as the law of inertia. An object at rest stays at rest and an object in motion stays in motion with the same speed and in the same direction unless acted upon by an unbalanced force.Example-A book lying on the table remains at rest as long as no net force acts on it. A moving object does not stop moving by itself. A rolling ball on rough surface or ground stops earlier than on the smooth surface because rough surfaces offer more friction than a smooth surface.

When a bullet is fired from a gun, the gun exerts a force on the bullet in the forward direction. This is force is called as the action force. The bullet also exerts an equal and opposite force on the gun in the backward direction. Therefore a gun recoils when a bullet is fired from it.
