IMUL instruction is used for the multiplication of two signed numbers. The result of IMUL between two signed numbers is signed as well.

The OF( OverFlow) and CF (Carry Flag) flags get affected by this instruction.

Carry Flag - is a single bit in a system status register used to indicate when arithmetic carries or borrow has been generated out of the ALU bit position.

Overflow Flag - a single bit in a system status register used to indicate when an arithmetic overflow has occurred in operation, meaning that the signed two's complement result would not fit in the number of bits used for the operation.
