State the function of abscisic acid in plants.

Abscisic acid (ABA) is a plant hormone which functions mainly as a growthinhibitor. Abscisic acid promotes the dormancy in seeds and buds [ this is the opposite of breaking the dormancy]. It also promotes closing ofstomata.
