Branchial basket is a cartilage like structure that helps to support the gills in both the lower as well as the protochordates vertebrates.

These are the baskets which are present in the taste buds and therefore play a very crucial role.

You will find these baskets in different species like Encheliophis boraborensis, Encheliophis and many more. In all only 4 types of species have the branchial basket.
