State the function of guard cells .what will happen to guard cell and stomatal pores when water flows to guard cells.

protect stomatal pores
help to regulate the rate of transpiration
(closed in desert plants at day time)
they open and close the stomatal pores

2nd part-
they swell up when water flows through them, causing the stomatal pore open

similarly the pore shrink if the guard cell shrinks

hey mate here is the answer.....

guard cells control the opening and closing of the stomatal pore.
when they are turgid the stomatal pore is open and when they are flaccid the stomatal pore is closed.
