- Gustatory receptors are those that are in the tongue of an individual.
- These gustatory receptors are placed all over the surface of the tongue in the organs called the taste buds. They provide a sense of taste.
(ii) Olfactory receptors:
- Olfactory receptors are those receptors that are present on the surface of the olfactory neurons, these help in detection of various smells around an individual.
- The sperm cells are also sometimes equipped with olfactory receptors to find the egg through the sense of smell.
