state the function of plant hormones by categorising it in different types

There are five major plant hormones which performs different functions:

-       Auxin- The primary function of Auxin hormone is to help in plant elongation. It stimulates stem elongation and also promotes phototropism

- Cytokinins- Cytokinin hormone is involved in multiple functions such as growth of buds. It is also involved in cell division.

- Ethylene- It plays a role in the development and ripening of fruit.

- Abscisic Acid- It is a type of hormone which acts as inhibitor and inhibits plant growth during dormant periods. It also controls the opening and closing of stomata cells.

- Gibberllins- It is involved in stem elongation. They are growth regulators and promote development of plant’s processes.
