Answer:

Roots help in absorbing water and other organic and inorganic minerals. It helps in transporting materials through a vascular tissue-root xylem. It anchors the plant to the soil.

The roots have tiny hairs, which is also called as root hairs. The function of root hairs is to collect water and mineral nutrients that are present in the soil and take this solution up through the roots to the rest of the plant. As root hair cells do not carry out photosynthesis they do not contain chloroplasts.

Answer:

Photosynthesis,

the process by which green plants and certain other organisms transform light energy into chemical energy. During photosynthesis in green plants, light energy is captured and used to convert water, carbon dioxide, and minerals into oxygen and energy-rich organic compounds.

How roots contribute to the process of photosynthesis?

Answer;

Root absorbs water from the soil which is the source of the hydrogen atoms in the sugars created by photosynthesis.
