In an electrolytic cell, the salt bridge is used to move the ions from one solution to the other, without mixing the two solutions and completing the circuit .It also helps in maintaining the electrical neutrality in the cell.

mechanicalanky: but inform me electrolytes name
Ramcharan: I didn't get you
Ramcharan: Are you asking what is salt bridge made of?
mechanicalanky: ok
mechanicalanky: i am comfused hcl. kcl
Ramcharan: in the salt bridge compounds like KCl or KNO3 are stored in agar-agar solution.
Ramcharan: These dissociate into ions and help in neutralising the solution.
mechanicalanky: thank you
Ramcharan: np..

Hey dear,

● Salt bridge -
- Salt bridge is the connection between two halves of a voltaic cell.
- It's tube like structure with electrolyte gel in it.

# Uses of salt bridge -
Salt bridge helps in following purposes.
1) Electrical neutrality is maintained.
2) It allows flow of ions without mixing solution.
3) It completes the circuit.

Hope this helps you.
