Cattle, sheep, pig, goat farming provides manure to the farms. Fish rearing is helpful to grow paddy because of symbiotic reasons. In-fact fish is reared in paddy fields. Poultry serves dual purpose of providing feed to fish and provide eggs to the farm owner. One could easily plant an acre of corn and provide it as feed to the chickens as well.
Ox are used in transportation of goods and for ploughing in field. Buffaloes and cows give milk.
Hence these are the importance of non - farm activities.
