The constitution if India, like many other democratic constitutions, is preceded by a Preamble. The preamble is an introduction of things to come. The Preamble to our constitution summaries it's aims and objectives.
The Preamble expresses a great deal of meanings in few words. The Preamble indicates the nature and ideals of the state.

The opening words of our constitution is ' We, the People of India, having solemnly resolved to constitute India into a SOVEREIGN
SOCIALIST SECULAR DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC and to secure to all citizens.'
