Though the names of most of the elements are taken from their English names, there are some cases where names have been derived from Latin, Greek, or German.

1. Sodium - Symbol: Na; Latin name: Natrium

2. Copper - Symbol: Cu; Latin name: Cuprum

3. Lead-Symbol: Pb; Latin name: Plumbrum

4. Tungsten - Symbol: W; Latin name: Wolfram

NOTE: The symbol of the element is the first letter or the first and the second letter of its English or Latin name. The first letter is always in capitals while the second is always a small letter.
