Answer:

Characteristic and function of connective tissue ;

Connective tissue is incredibly diverse and contributes to energy storage the protection of organ and the body's structural integrity.

connective tissue is one of the four main classes of tissues. Althrough it is the most abundant and distributed of the primary tissue, the amount of connective tissue in a particular organ varies. Like to the timber farming of a house , the connective tissue provide structure and support throughout the body.

Structure of connective tissue ;

Connective tissue has three main components

1 ) Ground substance .

2 ) Fibres .

3 ) Cells .

Together the ground substance and fibres make up the extracellular matrix . The composition of these three element very tremendously one organ to the other . This offer great diversity in the type of connective tissue .

Ground substance is a clear ,colourless, viscous fluid that fills the space between the cell and fibres . it is composed of proteoglycans and cell adhesion protein that allowed the connective tissue to act as glue for the cell to attach the matrix . The ground substance function as a molecular sieve for substance to travel between blood capillaries and cells.

Connective tissue fibres provided support. Three types of fibre are found in connective tissue ;

1 ) collagen

2 ) Elastic fibre .

3 ) Reticular fibre .
