Answer:

Law of multiple proportions states that when two elements combine with each other to form more than one compound, the weights of one element that combine with a fixed weight of the other are in a ratio of small whole numbers.

For example-

Hydrogen and oxygen combine to each other forming water or hydrogen peroxide

Hope this helps you :)

AnSwer :-

\bigstarAccording to the law of multiple proporiton, if two elements can be combined to form more than one compound the masses of one element that combine with a fixed mass of there element, are int he same ratio.

For example :-

hydrogen combines with oxygen to form two Compounds; namely water (H₂O)

 \sf Hydrogen+ oxygen \: \longrightarrow Water

⠀⠀2g ⠀⠀⠀16g ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀18g

 \sf Hydrogen + Oxygen \longrightarrow Hydrogen peroxide

⠀⠀2g ⠀⠀⠀⠀32g ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀34g

Here, the masses of oxygen (.i.e., 16g and 32g), which combines with a fixed mass of hydrogen (2g) bear a simple ratio .i.e., 16 : 32 or 1 : 2
