the phenomenon of bending of light when light goes from one medium to another is called refraction of light
Law of refraction:-
1. when light goes from rarer to denser, it will bend towards the normal and when it goes from denser to rarer it will bend away from the normal ( see the fig. no. a and b)
2.the incident ray and refracted ray all lies in the same plane. and during refraction the speed of light,wavelength changes but frequency will remain same.
