f = focal length
v = distance from the sherical mirror where image is formed
u = distance from the spherical mirror where object is placed

1/v - 1/u =(d - 1){ 1/R1 - 1/R2} =1/f

above formula is known as lens formula
you see here given two formula
first e.g 1/v - 1/u =(d - 1){ 1/R1 -1/R2}
use when refractive index of lens given.
and second ,
e.g 1/v - 1/u = 1/f
use when refractive index not given .

here,
v=distance of image from pole of lens
u=distance of object from pole of lens
f =focal length
d =refractive index of lens.
R1 and R2 are radius of curvature of given lens
