Europe is a continent located entirely in the Northern Hemisphere and mostly in the Eastern Hemisphere. It comprises the westernmost part of Eurasia and is bordered by the Arctic Ocean to the north, the Atlantic Ocean to the west, the Mediterranean Sea to the south, and Asia to the east.
Location - It is surrounded by waterbodies on three
sides. The Arctic Ocean lies in the North, the Atlantic Ocean in
the West and the Mediterranean Sea in the South. The Caucasus
Mountains, the Ural Mountains in the East and the Caspian Sea
in the South-east separate Europe from Asia. The Strait of
Gibraltar and Mediterranean Sea separate Europe from Africa.
Extent - Europe is located approximately between latitudes 35°N
and 73°N, placing it entirely in the Northern Hemisphere. Most of
Europe lies within the temperate zone. Its longitudinal extent is
from 25°W to 65°E.
