ANSWER : Dobereiner's Law of Triads. Dobereiner, in 1817 suggested a relationship between the properties of elements and their atomic weights. According to Dobereiner, the atomic weight of the middle element is nearly the same as average of the atomic weights of other two elements.

in a triad when the the elements are arranged in  increasing order of their atomic mass then the atomic mass of 1st and 3rd elements is equal to the avg atomic mass of the middle element.

a+c/2=b
