Consider lysosomes as digestive organelles.When I studied cell biology, I would commit the thought of lysosomes as being ‘hydrolytic enzyme sacs’.

Let me explain;

They function by hydrolysing matter, like the Big Mac I just ate. This breaks my Big Mac down into smaller, and smaller pieces.

Breaking these molecules into smaller components releases energy (called ATP) available for our body to use. Energy that can regulate our body temperature when it's cold outside, and fuel your leg muscles when you go on a run.

Since lysosomes help break down food, you can bet your bottom dollar you will find a lot of these organelles inside the cells of the stomach.

Inside a cell, numerous organelles function to remove wastes. One of the key organelles involved in digestion and waste removal is the lysosome. Lysosomes are organelles that contain digestive enzymes. They digest excess or worn out organelles, food particles, and engulfed viruses or bacteria.

samshad2: the answer is writer. = lysosomes are a kind of waste disposal system of the cell. lysosomes are able to do this because they content powerful digestive enzyme capable of Breaking Dawn all organic material .during the disturbance in circular material. for example when the cell gets damaged lysosomes may burst and the enzymes digest their own cell. lysosmes are membrane bound sacs filled with digestive enzymes.
