Earthquake cause damage to humans, animals, plants and non-living things like buildings, roads, glass. There are various steps should be taken to avoid the damage due to earthquake.
Precaution that can be taken to minimize the effect of an earthquake:
- The buildings are more affected due to the earthquake; we should avoid standing near to the building or inside it which is damaged.
- The electricity board should cut off all the supply to the city as electric poles are affected due to the earthquake as a result they may fall down.
- Also the supply of natural gas, if it is done through the underground pipe, must be cut off to avoid the leakage due to bursting of pipe.
- The people should stand in an open ground to minimize the effect of earthquake.
