State the mechanism of reflex action with suitable example

ex.. as u keep ur foot on a sharp edge
u suddenly say ouh! and lifts ur leg

A sudden response to a stimuli I.e. any change in environment is called reflex action.
It only involves the spinal cord and not the brain.
As receptors sense anything dangerous they send the impulses through sensory neurons to the spinal cord and in return motor nerves reach with the information to the effectors.
In this way reflex action takes place.
For exm. touching any hot substance.
