✯The following conditions are necessary for sustained interference:--

❶ The two sources of light must be coherent sources.

❷ The two sources of light should be narrow sources.

❸ The distance between the two sources should be small.

❹ The amplitude of two interfering waves should either be equal or nearly equal.

❺ the distance between the screen and slits should be as large as possible.

2)The sources should emit light of same frequency.
 

3)The separation between sources should be small so that wide fringes are obtained.
