See Newton’s second law of motion states that The rate of change of momentum is directly proportional to the unbalanced force in the diresction of force
See ,I will explain u this law with a help of a example
Suppose I blind fold you,so something is moving to u with a velocity ..but you have to identify because it could be a mosquito or it could be a truck so this means that velocity is not enough to measure motion so we need a another term known as momentum which is product of mass and velocity
Also when we have to calculate force the formula is F=ma where m is the mass and v is the velocity
