state the observation on action of conc. nitric acid on copper ​

Answer:

Cu + 4HNO3 ----> Cu(NO3)2 + 2H2O + 2NO2

When metals like Iron, Aluminium, Copper become passive ( inert ) when reacted with pure concentrated nitric acid.

It is due to the formation of extremely thin layer of insoluble metallic oxide ( passivity ) which stops the reaction.
