The Cell Theory was proposed by "Matthias Schleiden" and "Theodor Schwann" in 1839.
Postulates of cell theory are:
- All "organisms are brought into existence" by a smallest unit known as a cell.
- These living cells formed by "division of preexisting cells".
- Living cells are the "fundamental unit" of any structure.
- They function in "all living creatures" whereas the activity of a creature depends on the "total activity of independent cells".
