soap is prepared by hydrolysing fat or oil with bases such a sodium hydroxide and potassium hydroxide . The process of making is known as saponification generally soap is prepared by heating the animal fat or oil with alkalies like sodium hydroxide and potassium hydroxide . this is saponification reaction .
