Explanation:

1 When magnesium reacts with very dilute nitric acid, it forms magnesium nitrate and hydrogen gas is evolved. As the nitric acid is very dilute, it acts as a weak oxidising agent, which is unable to oxidise the hydrogen gas.

2Sulfur react with sulfuric acid to produce sulfur dioxide and water. Sulfuric acid should be concentrated solution. The reaction takes place in a boiling solution. [S4]2+, [S8]2+ or [S19]2+ is formed when sulfur is dissolved in oleum

3. Zn + H2SO4 (dil) = ZnSO4 + H2 But when the metal is heated with concentrated sulfuric acid, the latter is reduced to sulfur dioxide. Zn + 2HSO4(conc) = ZnSO4 + SO2 + 2H2O This is a redox reaction as conc. H2SO4 acts as an oxidising agent at high temperatures (hot condition).

4 cane sugar is made up of two glucose molecule so cane sugar fr is C12H22O11. Answer: Concentrated sulfuric acid is mixed with household sugar, which is attacked by the acid, a dehydrating agent. The final products are carbon, water vapor, and sulfur dioxide gas.
