Answer:

zinc and iron reacts with lead nitrate.

Zn + Pb(NO3)2 -----------> Pb + Zn(NO3)2

Fe + Pb(NO3)2 -----------> Pb + Fe(NO3)2

Explanation:

(1). Silver metal is less reactive than lead so, it did not react with lead nitrate solution.

(2). Zinc is more reactive than lead. It reacts with lead nitrate solution and displaces the lead metal. The chemical reaction is -

Zn + Pb(NO) → Pb + Zn(NO)

(3). Copper is less reactive than lead so, it did not react with lead nitrate solution.

(4). Iron is more reactive than lead. It reacts with lead nitrate solution and displaces the lead metal. The chemical reaction is -

Fe + Pb(NO)  → Pb + Fe(NO)

Answer :

i. Silver does not react with lead nitrate solution. This is because silver is a less reactive metal than lead and hence, cannot displace lead from its compound.

ii. Zinc will react with lead nitrate solution. The reaction results in the formation of zinc nitrate solution and lead metal. This happens because a displacement reaction undergoes as zinc is more reactive than lead.

Reaction:-

  • \rm{Pb(NO_3)_2(aq)+Zn(s)\longrightarrow{}Zn(NO_3)_2(aq)+Pb(s)}

\hrulefill

iii. Copper does not react with lead nitrate solution. This is because copper is a less reactive metal than lead and hence, cannot displace lead from its compound.

iv. Iron reacts with lead nitrate solution and displaces lead metal from the compound. This, again, happens due to a displacement reaction as iron is a more reactive metal than lead.

Reaction:-

  • \rm{Pb(NO_3)_2(aq)+Fe(s)\longrightarrow{}Fe(NO_3)_2(aq)+Pb(s)}
