state the reason for believing that copper is a metal and sulphur is a non metal?

Copper has following properties that makes it qualify as a metal:
It is sonorous, malleable and ductile.
It is a good conductor of electricity.
It is solid at room temperature.
While sulphur does not exhibit these properties thus it is classified under non metals.

copper is a metal coz it can be beaten into thin sheets. secondly, it is sonorous. these properties are of metals . sulphur is a non metal so it does not have these properties. .........hope it helps you
