state the reason for the following –
a). Hydrogen is not evolved when a metal react with nitric acid ?
b). highly reactive metals can’t be obtained from their oxides by heating them with carbon ?
c). copper vessel get a green coat when left exposed to air in rainy season ?

a) because nictric acid is an oxidising agent ,as soon as hydrogen is made it oxidised to form H2O(water).
b) because they have more affinity to oxygen then carbon.
c) because copper reacts with moist carbon dioxide to form carbon carbonate.
