So, for every real value of x, r(x) = k. Hence the remainder when f(x) is divided by the linear polynomial (x-a) is f(a). (x -a) is a factor of f(x), if f(a) = 0.

Answer:

Factor theorem is a special case of remainder theorem that if polynomial F(x) is divided by a linear the for (x-a), then the remainder will be f(a).
