Hcl is produced 8n the stomach by gastric glands present in the wall of stomach. acid plays an important role in activating pepsinogen enzyme to form the pepsin which digests proteins to smaller chains of amino acids. Hcl kills the bacteria and other microorganisms that enter along with the food. it also denatures the proteins and softens the Ca of food so they can be easily digested....
