During inhalation diaphragm move upward and with exhalation it move downward..

here is ur answer-

ROLE OF DIAPHRAGM DURING INHALATION-
firstly, diaphragm balance the weight of lung
when we inhale diaphragm contracts it moves downward creating more space in the chest cavity as well as rib cage also pulled upward and outward which increases the space around chest cavity.And with this more amount​ of gases can be filled in the chest.

ROLE OF DIAPHRAGM DURING EXHALATION-
when we exhale diaphragm relaxes and rib cage pulled back inward and downward which decreases the space around thorasic cavity.
