Bile, the thick yellow-greenish or yellow-brownish secretion which is critical for digestion of food is produced in the liver. It also helps in absorption of fats and fat-soluble vitamins in the small intestines.

The pancreatic juices produced in the pancreas, is another important enzyme which aids in the digestion of food. The pancreas also produces insulin and glucagon that help maintain blood glucose levels.
