TRANSPOSONS are also called as jumping gene sequences present in the genome of eukaryotic cell that can jump to different locations within the genome. These causes RNA interferences (RNAil ) by silencing a specific sequence of DNA and is used as an method of cellular defence in eukaryotes.
RNA formed from special type of transposon called RETROTRANSPOSON combines with mRNA due to complementarity to form dsRNA as a result to prevent the translation of mRNA called GENES SILENCING.✌
