Hans Christian Oersted's Right hand thumb rule can be used for identifying the direction of magnetic field.
Imagine you are holding a current-carrying conductor in your right hand such that the thumb points towards the direction of current. Then your fingers will wrap around the conductor in the direction of the field lines of the magnetic field.
This is right hand thumb rule and we use this for identifying/finding the direction of magnetic field lines using direction of electric current and vice-versa.
