Rule1. If the incident ray parallel to principal axis, then the refracted ray passes through focus (F).  

Rule2. If the incident ray passes through the focus, the refracted ray becomes parallel to principal axis.

Rule3. A ray of light passing through the optical center of lens passes through the lens undeviating.
