Force is defined as push or pull.

The SI unit of force is newton which we denote as capital N.

Now question is:

What is push or pull.

A force which moves a body away from the point of application of force is called push.

A force which moves a body closer to the point of application of force is called pull.

Effects of Force?

1.       A force can cause a motion in stationary object.

2.       A force can stop the moving body objects or slow them down.

3.       A force can make a moving object move faster.

4.       A force can change direction of moving objects.

5.       A force can change the shape of objects.

Approved that:

Force is an external agent which can changes or tends to change the state of rest or uniform motion of the body or changes its direction.

Forces in Nature:

1.       Muscular force

2.       Mechanical force

3.       Gravitational force

4.       Electrical force

5.       Magnetic force

Units of force:

1.       The commonly used for measuring force is called kilogram force (symbol=kgf).

2.       The force of gravity acting on one kg mass is one kgf.

3.       One gram force (1 gf) is the force required to lift a mass of 1 g vertically upward.

How force is measured:

Force is measured by spring balance.
