Shortcomings of using chemical fertilizers :
◆ it reduces the soil fertility and kills the useful microbes present in the soil naturally.
◆ it can even lead to pollution of the water bodies as a result of leeching .
◆ eventually these toxic chemicals may get mixed with the agricultural crops and it might harm the human beings when consumed . This process is called bio magnification .
◆ some of the chemical fertilizers can even released harmful carcenogenic gases when used.
STEPS TO BE TAKEN:
◆ natural manures like cow dung and other household wastes can be used .
◆ to improve the soil fertility,crop rotation can be used .
◆compost pits can be prepared at all the households that can serve as a manure .
