(a) Conduction: when charged by conduction, the charges are conducted i.e. the charges travel from the charged rod to uncharged body. Hence the body acquires the same charge as the conductor which in this case is the positively charged rod.
(b) Induction: In Induction experiments, when a neutrally–charged object is kept beside a charged electrode, it acquires its charge. this is because the electrons from the metal surface get attracted towards the positively charged leaving an overall positive charge on the metal object.
